The Business Development Area Manager is responsible for the fiscal & operational delivery of the agreed commercial and consumer targets within their assigned area. Working closely with their Regional Commercial Managers, ensure agreed targets and work plans are being delivered through the Business Development Representatives. Develop clear partnerships with focus accounts / stores within assigned areas, keeping up to date with the evolving EVP category, to ensure at Store owner and clerk level, meaning relationships are formed. Ensure, through the use of provided tools, competitive information is being provided up through reporting lines, keeping the US Fontem team up to date with competitor activities within each area. Ensure assets assigned to each area, are legally compliant, in good working order and are tracked for financial purposes. Provide the leadership, coaching & training of Business Development Representatives to ensure growth targets are achieved.
Key Accountabilities & Deliverables:
Ensure the delivery of agreed commercial and operational targets within your assigned areas.
Identify, aligned to Regional objectives, commercial opportunities within your assigned area, to amplify growth potential and mitigate risk.
Deliver all agreed work plans to the Business Development team, ensuring understanding is achieved before and during the work plan.
Ensure all company assets are managed against agreed company policies.
Ensure the capture and transfer of competitor intelligence, both personally collected and through the Business Development team, is done within company guidelines and timings.
Ensure you keep abreast of and coach and develop, category knowledge, relevant to the Business Development Channels, to ensure meaningful engagement of store owners/clerks.
Ensure KPI’s, development plans and agreed training is up to date and delivered to all Business Development Representatives.
3-5 years of relevant experience in a senior sales role.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
History of problem solving with the ability to see the broader picture as well as finer details.
Valid Driver’s license.
Proven history of successful people management, with a clear ability to link commercial success with employee engagement.
A clear business acumen, analytical skills and comfort with financial analysis.
Desire to make his/her mark in a fast-paced and dynamic high growth category with complex legal & regulatory principles.
A strength in stakeholder management at both customer and internal management level.
