The role

Bristol/South West England

As the Post-Market Surveillance Officer you will be responsible for establishing, implementing and maintaining the post-market surveillance (PMS) process for Next Generation Products at Imperial Brands. You will be the process owner of PMS assessment programs across geographies and global coordinator of NGPs post-market compliance and adverse events reporting.

Key accountabilities

  • Implement and maintain the Global PMS process as process owner, in conjunction with Group Science colleagues, local affiliates and local markets
  • Evaluate Product/Processes Adverse Events and Product Non-Conformances, determine their impact on regulatory submissions and manage annual reporting to the appropriate Regulatory Authorities
  • Coordinate the Imperial Brands Risk Assessment Panel (RAP) to assess health complaints related to potentially defective products helping the panel to recommend action to be taken
  • Support local market Adverse Event and Complaint database development, upgrades, changes, conversions through design input, testing and maintenance functions
  • Collaborate independently with other Scientific Research & Harm Reduction team members and departments needing product complaint information and act as information resource on PMS internally
  • Represent Post-Market Product Surveillance at cross-functional meetings as necessary and report findings and post-market surveillance trends
  • Ascertain when additional support may be needed from other teams on complaint investigations (e.g. potential manufacturing-related issues based on returned products)
  • Train local affiliate colleagues in Global PMS processes and reporting standards, and Product Surveillance product complaint handling

Skills & experience

You will ideally have the following qualifications, skills and experience

  • Degree educated in the healthcare or science fields
  • Previous demonstrated experience in a regulated consumer products industry such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, tobacco, food and beverage or cosmetics
  • Knowledge of appropriate PMS regulations (e.g. FDA, EU regulatory bodies)
  • Strong and proven project management and external collaborations skills
  • You can work in a matrixed and geographically diverse business environment
  • Solutions focussed with ability to prioritise as appropriate
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to communicate easily across cultures and organisational levels
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to foster cross-functional collaboration
  • Superb attention to detail

The following qualifications and experience are desirable

  • Understanding of the tobacco category and related products
  • Ability to travel approximately 5-10%, including internationally
