The Process engineer will be responsible for the development and realisation of devices and equipment’s in line with the company’s development plant strategies.

Key accountabilities

Responsibilities of Process engineer include but are not limited to the following:

  • Generate and review Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reports from suppliers and fabricators.
  • Generate, review and approve User requirement Specifications (URS) for equipment and systems.
  • Produce and maintain accurate and complete design documentation for each new product, process and or system, including relevant information for legal or compliance purposes.
  • Conduct Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
  • Conduct Root cause analysis on product failures and document findings in reports.
  • Propose, develop and validate manufacturing improvements enabling productivity, cost saving and increased quality.
  • Source and evaluate alternative suppliers for acceptability of new and replacement equipment’s. Evaluation must be conducted using statistically significant methods in conjunction with regulatory input.
  • Asist in the creation of process flow and work instructions.
  • Develop and lead by example a quality oriented and safety-first mindset through continuous engagement & training.
  • Efficiently and safely execute training to all staff to ensure equipment’s and machinery is operated in a safe environment.
  • Ability to interpret and support the future critical and high priority needs of the business.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with Supply Chain, Quality, Innovations R&D & Engineering functions to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely manner.
  • Ability to analyse complex data and identify trends/patterns.
  • Ensure risk assessments are suitable and sufficient for equipment’s and process.
  • Liaise with internal functions to ensure manufacturing/equipment issues identified are discussed with relevant business functions in a timely manner.
  • Lead and execute equipment qualification/validation as required.
  • Be aware of key cost drivers and work to reduce internal costs.
  • Achieve all relevant KPI’s and promote a positive culture of continuous improvement.
  • Attend relevant meetings and contribute to the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing function
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Skills & experience

  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment & comfortable with continual change
  • Experience with qualification/validation processes
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the internal/external business
  • Strong technical, analytical, and writing skills
  • In-depth knowledge of GxP i.e. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GDP (Good Documentation Practices) and TPD (Tobacco Products Directive)
  • Proven track record of delivering safety and quality performance through leadership and engagement
  • Systematic problem-solving skills in identifying, prioritising, communicating, and resolving quality/H&S issues
  • Demonstrated success & experience of leadership
  • Availability to travel

 

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years’ experience in FMCG machinery projects
  • Solid understanding about manufacturing steps and requirements
  • Experience in equipment specification and validation of complex production equipment’s
  • Degree or higher in relevant field
