The role

We have a product roadmap requiring a large portfolio of product development and new product delivery. The product of blu, are both physical experiences delivered into the hand of the consumer as well as digital experiences delivered on-line.  You will be pivotal in bringing to life market-leading new product developments, leveraging your skills in customer insights, ground-up product development, commercial modelling and your ability to inspire a multi-functional team who will be the armoury you’ll need to get this job done.  Your persistence will be key as there is a lot to do as new ideas, iterations and products are being constantly brought to the fore of this exciting and dynamic company.

In your core product team you will be assigned an important role for a number of given products, many of which will require you to bring this class of product to market for the very first time. There will be little to copy and lots to learn. You will need to use your knowledge of customer insight, your problem solving and a great deal of creativity to conjure new commercial angles, customer journeys and outcomes in order to assist the business to deliver on its mission to convert smokers to vaping with blu.

As a Product Marketing Manager, you will work alongside and spark ideas off colleagues, all with a similar drive to succeed and who individually report to the blu Head of Product and in turn to the Consumer Experience Director. As part of this product team you will collectively own the NPD and improvement process – managing the life-cycle of these products over time and always ensuring that they meet the needs of the brand and consumer.

You will work with a multifunctional team of innovators, brand marketers, designers, engineers, digital specialists and external agencies together with colleagues from communications, corporate affairs, legal and finance. For the more complex products these teams will be by nature large and often multi-locational to service the development needs of the business – but ultimately you will be responsible for the ROI of the out-turning product development.

You operate in Scrum, setting a compelling vision of success and through product sprints, will prioritise the backlog (workload), marshal resources as appropriate and in close collaboration with the Head of Product have to make rapid and material business decisions to ensure full product delivery.

Key accountabilities

  • Deliver a variety of projects, collaborate internal teams and agencies from concept to launch for new and existing product development.
  • Work with and manage internal clients globally, listening closely to consumer needs, sharing regular product updates and delivering a superb product experience aligned to the business expectations.
  • Develop close working relationships with critical stakeholders across the business
  • Work with internal teams and clients to help translate the business requirements into user stories and backlog deliverables.
  • Manage and work with the product design, design and innovation teams (including agencies where required)
  • Partner with consumer experience, I&I and brand marketing teams
  • Build out the best market defining products and consumer experiences.

Skills & experience

  • Knowledge of agile and scrum methodologies (ideally advanced)
  • Shape and leverage advanced conceptual thinking to solve complex and/or completely new or novel situations that have never been dealt with before.
  • Actively pursue innovative solutions that align with the company's tolerance for risk (business and reputational).
  • Able to influence the direction and thinking of senior stakeholders
  • Skilled communicator who influences and negotiates with great latitude on various outcomes for an entire Business/Segment/Function internally and externally.
  • Lead and directly impact the professional and/or technical direction and strategy for a discipline or a core product including shaping and designing new policies, procedures and standards
  • Meeting facilitation, communication, and presentation/ public speaking skills
  • 2-3+ Years in Business Analysis or Product Management Preferred Qualifications:
  • Have a data-driven mindset, with an understanding of how to apply KPI's and measures of success for Product development
  • Business value and business case development
  • Knowledge of JIRA project management

In terms of management:

  • Strategy and Execution: established ability to deliver product management across the full product life-cycle, including demonstrating clear wins in user experience, product delivery processes, positioning, product strategy and launch
  • Accountability for clear articulation and execution of individual products’ strategy across the team (including to execs) as well as updates on plans and key performance indicators back to the global head of product, the global consumer experience director and wider stakeholders.
  • Someone great people want to work with
