We are seeking an experienced senior scientist to lead a portfolio of content generation to support internal and external stakeholders’ scientific and data informational needs. The Scientific Affairs Manager is responsible for providing fair, balanced, objective, scientific information regarding Imperial Brands’ reduced risk product portfolio to internal and external key decision makers and business partners as required, including communications, commercial operations, group science and corporate and legal affairs. This role will manage interpretation and contextualization of scientific data in order to advance the scientific platform of Imperial Brands’ products and the larger corporate strategy under growing market and regulatory demands. The Scientific Affairs Manager will also be responsible for horizon scanning and working with expert external partners to conduct analysis and disseminate evidence based on the Imperial Brands scientific vision.
The successful candidate will monitor, understand and report on scientific and medical developments relevant to Imperial Brands portfolio of reduced risk products, with a strong focus on electronic nicotine delivery devices. The successful candidate will need to have experience developing strategic plans and coordinating project timelines to ensure timely completion of writing projects, including summaries of scientific literature, and the preparation of reports and manuscripts. The successful candidate will also need to be detailed oriented, self-directed, flexible, and with the ability to balance workload and project timelines to meet departmental and project goals. Finally, the role also include line management responsibility, so experience developing and leading small teams will be required.
