The role

Technology Manager reports directly to the Head of Technology and forms part of the overall global technology leadership team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the entire IT department, including development, implementation and use of technology throughout the organization, for both external-facing and in-house systems. This individual will contribute to global vision and strategy, planning and execution of information technology and systems, which includes but is not limited to network infrastructure, data assets as well as application and system development.

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helps establish (together with Head of Technology), enhance and proactively communicate our technology strategy and vision, ensuring strong alignment within and outside of IT
  • Translates strategy into execution, driving ownership, transparency and accountability within the IT organization. Inspires organization by effectively communicating and engaging teams in the overall strategy and vision.
  • Oversees E2E planning, development and enhancement of new and existing system
  • Contributes to the development of operating budget and maintains necessary controls to assure compliance with budgeted expenses, resources, and staff projections.
  • Develops standard operating procedures and best practices, including providing written protocols and guidance to staff and to end-users.
  • Builds staff and monitor programs to support production services including staffing, standards, productivity analysis, cost factors, benefits realization, and operations processing.
  • Develops, manages and nurtures key partnerships with vendors and partners (both internal and external)
  • Lead roadmap discussions with the Product Owners and other department heads
  • Support our product owners, tech leads and others in improving the pace and quality of delivery of features and technical improvements

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent education and experience
  • Preferred eight to ten years of IT experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a team of technical staff, to work with the Executive Management of an organization, and to manage multiple concurrent projects.
  • Excellent communication skills towards direct reports, peers and senior stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and analytical skills
  • Must be business minded and driven by consumer and user value. Technology is a tool and technology strategy are part of the overall business vision
  • A passion for working in a process-driven way and working with team members to continuously improve that process.
  • Proven knowledge and experience in project planning and management tools to manage project progress, budget, and scope
  • Excellent organization/project planning, time management, and change management skills across multiple functional groups and departments, and excellent delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity
  • Work experience as a Software Engineer is a big plus
