Warehouse Manager

Warehouse Manager

As Warehouse Manager you'll be responsible for ensuring the effective management of goods in, warehousing, despatch and stock. You will also oversee Warehouse functions to ensure the business achieves it Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and that all activities are conducted to the agreed GxP, regulatory standards and that safe working practices are current & adhered to.

Key Accountablities 

  • Plan and co-ordinate the incoming goods, storage and dispatch of items in a timely and efficient manner
  • Ensure the safe and accurately documented receipt of all incoming stock of externally sourced materials and goods
  • Communicate with all internal customers the receipt of items required to fulfil the production schedule
  • Work closely with the Purchasing department to ensure adequate stock levels.
  • Oversee and plan picking activity in line with business requirements
  • Ensure the management of stock through appropriate systems and physical checks
  • Effectively manage the warehouses to allow for timely identification of stock items
  • Ensure all despatch is timely and in line with customer requirements for safe delivery
  • Lead stock takes to minimise inaccurate stock reporting
  • Control costs and expenditure of the department within agreed budgets
  • Proactively manage health & safety and actively promote safe working practices
  • Agree KPIs and present accurate management reporting on a regular basis
  • Ensure all employees are fully trained against all standard operating procedures and training records and appropriate licences are up to date
  • Assess the performance of direct reports on an on-going basis both informally and formally via coaching and formal assessments.
  • Ensure effective housekeeping through regular audits
  • Promote team working within warehouse and with all relevant departments
  • Manage the teams through all applicable company procedures

 

Skills & Experience 

  • Strong organisational and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent people person with a ‘can do’ approach
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment & comfortable with continual change
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, define, create and implement Warehouse processes
  • Excellent oral & written communication skills for effectively interfacing with all levels of management and departments within the
  • internal/external business
  • In-depth knowledge of GxP i.e. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), GDocP (Good Documentation Practices) and TPD (Tobacco Products Directive)
  • Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
  • Excellent project management skills are strongly preferred
  • High attention to detail and processes
  • Goal oriented, interpersonal, self-motivated and team player
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel)
  • Ability to manage own workload
     

Qualifications:

  • At least 10+ years’ experience in a management role within a GxP Warehouse environment
  • Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices
  • Degree or higher in logistics, supply chain management or business administration discipline is desirable
